It has really been such a beautiful winter so far here at Twin Oaks!
We have had quite a bit of snow, which only one person who lives here might not be happy about since he is the one out every night plowing it and hauling it away!
Poor Grant!
The snow is always best when it is warm enough to be outside in it.
We have had some very dangerous cold temperatures these past weeks!
We had such a big snow storm last week that the first thing that came down our road was a grader!
We are ALWAYS so thankful for our neighbor who plows us out!!
I am not sure what these two were watching first thing one morning still in their pjs – but when I saw their feet under the curtains, I just had to grab this photo!
Speaking of first thing in the morning – here is how Lane starts his day!
Straight from his bed to a couch with a big blanket, smart boy!
He may always have a slow start to his days, but he is a GREAT student – so much so it is hard to keep him challenged.
Spelling tests with scrabble pieces are always more fun than paper and a pencil!
The snow storms keep our bird restaurant full!
There is a bird lady here who loves to take pictures of them!
We made Valentine cards last week for our party at Briar’s place.
I made a Pinterest board of card ideas, let the kiddos scroll through it to get inspired, and then supplied them with anything they needed to work on their cards.
It was FUN!
We really enjoy crafting!!
Eliza, in Eliza fashion, wrote her cards all by herself!!
I never want to forget her passion for things like this!!
Look at these notes to Clyde and Ellie.
OH MY HEART!!!
Snow days or not, we still eat.
I love to make it all!
Stop me if you have heard this before!
Addie Mae made these chocolate peanut butter cups several days before our Valentine parties.
Needless to say, they were gone when the party day rolled around, ha, ha!
Even with all of the cold, the snow, several sore throats and stuffy noses, and one bad concussion (that would be Chad – oh my heart again!) – we manged to get out to the library and the Co-op!
We have been missing our weekly library day!
Library day brings lots of reading days!
I read aloud to the children every day too.
They never want me to stop once we start!
Have I ever told you what great helpers I have?
Or how much we love to play games around here?
Or how much I LOVE date night on Friday nights?
That man treats me like gold!!
This photo makes me smile.
To see Eliza standing on a chair!
Helping herself to a snack!
Perched on chair!
She is TERRIFIED of heights – even the height of a chair.
Sweet baby girl – you have come SO far!
Kayla’s bestie came for a visit last weekend!
We got to meet her hubbie, her 18 month old son, and this precious miracle – Harlie Kate – who was born the very same morning that Briar was born!
We haven’t seen Megan since Kayla and David’s wedding, so we were SO happy to see them ALL!
I took these darling hats to Kay that day.
The sweetest gal at church made them for Briar and Ellie Joy!
Aren’t they CUTE?!
Well, I think those precious girls are going to need those darling hats, because there is another snow storm on the way.
Time will tell how much more snow we will get, but they are calling for 8 more inches.
Now you see why Grant is hauling snow! They have to clear the parking lots and downtown streets of it – there is just no where for more snow to go!
It’s been a beautiful winter so far and I think its beauty will be sticking around for awhile!
