Saturdays spent working the farm are the BEST!
We had a BIG cleaning day planned for today.
The weather was PERFECT!
David and Kayla joined us!
And Grant was home all day too!
Eliza was SO happy! (So was I!!) All of her people were in one place!
We worked hard and we had a BLAST!
I officially set our start time as 7:30 a.m. – when I served a big, yummy breakfast!
Then it was out into the cold to get to work!
The littles and I weeded some!
We were being talked to while we worked!
Hello to you too, turkeys!
Then it was time for the first big job – getting the pole shed cleaned and ready for all of our winter renters!
David and the littles drove us all up there!
All of the above photos were taken in just a few minutes.
We quickly realized this was not a place for the littles, or for working without masks!
Addie Mae took the littles back to the house.
And we put on masks!
Tate and I had a photo bomber! At least you smiled nicely, honey!
All done! Ready for all those campers and boats!
Pretty soon it was snack time!
Apple cookies all around!
The landscape is changing all around us these days!
I LOVE hearing the hum of those combines!
Next up was the hayloft.
We usually clean the hayloft in the spring and in the fall.
It did not get done this spring, so it needed a lot of cleaning!
We had a good crew!
Almost finished! It looks amazing, guys!
While the hayloft crew was working, Kayla and her amazing helper Tate were washing things up!
I was inside with Eliza finishing up lunch!
Addie Mae and I had made most of lunch yesterday.
Red chili and white chili soup!
Muffins!
Chopped salad!
And fruit salad!
It was yummy and warmed our cold bones!
After lunch, I napped the littles and hung out with Lane inside.
The crew headed out to the lower barn and got back to work!
It looks amazing out there!
They also put our new babies out in the sunshine for awhile!
Bronzer and Ruger, you are too cute!
There is always a vehicle that needs worked on!
While the littles slept, I made a treat for everyone!
Pretty soon Grant and Chad were working on the shop.
It was a disaster!
Now it is spotless!
It don’t have an after photo!
While they were doing that, David was working on their car, us girls were finishing weeding, and Blake and Lane were hanging swings in the hayloft for the littles to swing on this winter!
Eliza needs this vestibular movement!
Thank you honey! They are perfect!
We finished the day with some hot apple cider!
And, of course, a yummy dinner that my sweet hubby grilled for us!
What a great day of getting things ready for winter here on the farm.
Thank you SO MUCH, David and Kayla, for your help today!!
Hope you had a great day too, everyone!!
Wow! Tires me out just thinking about all you accomplished. Glad you were able to get so much done. Your kids are amazing workers! I think they take after their mom and dad..
Ummm…that may not be a good thing ;0) But we do praise the Lord for their ambitious spirits!
