This summer has been full of so much change for us.
Especially when it comes to life on the farm!
We do not know when or if the Lord will see fit to allow our farm to sell, but we still knew we could not run our farm business this summer while the big kids were away all day and we were possibly trying to move.
There has not been much work on the farm this summer, but we still keep up with the buildings, the land, the horses, cats and dogs!
I am feeling SO amazing these days that I think I am scaring my crew! Not only have I been cleaning so many things in our home that I just had not had the health to see for so many months, now my eyes are wide open outside too! Look out, my crew!
So…..this Saturday and yesterday were work days, inside and out!
I agreed with Grant when he said it felt SO good to be outside working on the farm again!
Besides mowing, trimming, weeding, and cleaning up the hay loft, we rented a walk behind mower to take some weeds down in the pasture.
We do not have any of our equipment anymore, and although this was not the easiest or best way to do this job, it was the cheapest. Thanks boys!!
While I was out there getting those photos, I had two boys following me around – and stopping to take a roll down a hill!
It is hard not to constantly be praising the Lord when you watch Tate roll down a hill or take off running full speed ahead! Unbelievable what our precious boy can do!
We stopped to swing too. Why not.
Tate is always bare foot. I am not a bare foot outside kind of gal. Is it something you have to do when you are young to love when you are old? Not sure. But gimme my flip flops! Especially on gravel!
We had a stretch of dry weather, and there was hay down everywhere we looked!
The hum of tractors constantly going and driving by is one of my favorite things!
Yesterday Addie Mae and I got a pretty early start in the kitchen, and had a BIG cooking and baking day!
It was like the good ole days!! And we had to turn on a freezer to hold all that we made!
We kept the two littles happy with “a show” for a little while. Tate and Eliza always ask “What about the two littles?!” when we make a plan for a big work day. Too cute! They did help quite a bit too!
I am still in denial that summer is really coming to a close.
But it is.
This summer has been different than we had hoped for, but full of blessed moments and days that will be seared in my memory forever.
Thank you, Lord, for allowing us another summer with Adoni Acres – our little piece of heaven here on earth!
