Another Normal Day!

I snapped these photos of the boys out doing chores Monday morning.

The view from the kitchen is so spectacular!!

Sometimes farm life makes it a little hard to focus on things – like school!

The lane into our farm runs through a corn field. The corn was coming down this morning, and the hum of that combine was more than we could bare!

I was SO, so proud of Eliza! She ran right out into that fierce wind and loud noise with the boys, sat there for a minute, and then turned around and said, “Moooommm! This is not working! I can’t like this! Hold you, please, Mommy!”

NO tantrum. Just words! I scooped her up, went back into the mud room to watch, and praised and praised her for her good words!

She has come SO far!

As I took some more photos, she wanted to make sure I got one of her! But she did not want me to set her down!

School is moving along again. I thought it would be harder to get back into our groove, but the Lord has blessed this very much!

Here is the line up on one couch for Bible time! Such a sweet time of the day.

079

And here are these two. Yep.

081

I am also still teaching the Old Testament Bible stories to the littles and Lane.

So the littles made Queen Esther crowns!

074

I started rowing a book called “The Pumpkin Runner” the week before everyone got sick.

085

We are still rowing it! There has been lots of fun things to do. The best part is that the story is set in Australia. Just studying the animals that live in Australia could go on and on! We are having a lot of fun with this one.

082

We have read a lot of go-along books! The littles are really starting to sit still and enjoy being read to. Read aloud time has always been a big part of our days here, so I am happy that they are enjoying it now!

078

We investigated pumpkins, of course. Do they float or sink? Why?

We also cut one open, counted seeds, dried seeds, and talked about the pulp!

We also have made lots and lots of yummy things for snack time with pumpkin in them!

004

The littles love, love, love anything crafts. Tate is the master of crafts, and asks for them all day long. Eliza just loves directed activities. We have a lot of fun!

I still have a lot more planned for our row of “The Pumpkin Runner.” Tomorrow we are going to make a map of Australia out of sugar cookie dough!

Have I mentioned how amazing these normal days are?! Just checking.

Thank you to everyone who has been checking on David, Kayla and Baby K! We are super excited as we wait on the Lord’s perfectly appointed time for Baby K to arrive!! Hoping and praying it is soon!!

Have a happy Thursday, everyone!!

Yay for Eliza! She is so dear. So thankful that she is coming along and realizing her limits to a degree, and that her limits are expanding. Love all the reading that you do with the kiddos. They will learn the language even quicker because of all the reading you do. Thank you for sharing your days with us. So thankful you are doing better. Praying for Baby K and his/her arrival.

Yay! I finally figured out how to post from the tablet! I just needed to click on the title for the individual blog to come up with the comment section! I am so glad to hear your family is much better, and getting back into normality, and how exciting to hear of Eliza’s progress!! Glory! Excitedly waiting with you all on Baby K, and praying for smooth delivery! Love you all!

The “stained glass” pumpkins the littles made are so cute! You incorporate so many wonderful activities into your home school activities.
I love the way Eliza and Tate say “hold you, mommy?” When they want you to pick them up. I know it would be difficult to catch, but it would be so sweet to get that on video.
