If you have been following along here even for a second, you know that I LOVE DATE NIGHT!

Well…the shelter in place order took date night away because there was no where to go.

Blake and I already had put some limitations on date night before that, last fall I think, where we were keeping date night closer to home.

Not anymore!

The truth is, we NEED date night!

It’s healthy and important and life-giving to our marriage AND to our children!

We struggle when we do not have a bit of time alone together!

If you haven’t noticed…there are a lot of people that live in our little nest!

It’s hard to get time for even a full conversation!

This last Friday night we had planned for me to drive to town (45 minutes) to meet Blake and run errands together.

Blake surprised me though and was HOME before FIVE to pick me up!!

You could not wipe the smile off my face the entire night!

We planned our route carefully as the stores in our area are not open to their full hours yet, but we did make time to see if Starbucks was open again…and it WAS.

Now it really felt like date night!!

We ended our time in town getting grocery, but it was FUN to do it together!

When Blake purposes to have this time with me I feel cherished!

We are ALWAYS better together!

Our marriage has been strained as of late because of stress, but we are determined to stay in God’s Word, keep our communication with each other strong, and to make sure we have time together.

Marriage takes work, my friends!

I am so glad that date night falls in that “working hard on our marriage” category!

I only love date night because it always is with MY HUBBY!

Thanks for surprising me last Friday night, honey!

Can’t wait for date night again tonight!!
