Wednesday, September 6th, at 8:45 a.m., we all gathered at the Court House in Viroqua for a very important day!
It was time to make little Miss E our Ellie Joy forever more.
We have stood in this same courtroom with both Eliza and Tate.
Adoption hearings are so quick, with very little said back and forth…..but the words that are said by the judge are seared in your memory forever.
The judge said very kind things to David and Kayla!
She also said that hearings like this one are the absolute best part of her job.
We all had some tears.
Even Ellie’s caseworker.
The judge commented on the amount of support that David, Kayla and Ellie had.
David’s family was there.
Most of our family was there too – minus some littles who had the chicken pox and Chad who was babysitting them.
We look like quite a crowd, I suppose!
But we are a crowd full of LOVE for our precious Ellie Joy, and her Mommy and Daddy.
After the short ceremony we quickly took a few more photos!
Ellie and Clyde both got to pick a stuffed animal, and just like that it was over!
We slipped into a side room outside the courtroom and celebrated with cupcakes!!
What a HUGE chapter in Ellie’s story.
I have shivers just thinking back over the last year and ALL that the Lord has done!!
Ellie Joy has the sweetest heart, the BIGGEST smile, and the BRIGHTEST eyes EVER.
It will be her GPa’s and NaiNai’s prayer that the Lord will use her mightily for His kingdom.
Something tells me that a God who writes stories like Ellie’s so far, must have big, big plans for this precious girl!
