Today is my husband’s birthday!
Fifty-four years young!
Just as handsome as every – I LOVE his salt and pepper hair SO much!
We celebrated Blake on Sunday evening – and it was the sweetest celebration!
We had our favorites join us – which is a typical Sunday evening thing anyway!
The children were so thoughtful about planning and preparing a delicious meal and dessert, hanging decorations, and choosing gifts for Blake that he would enjoy!
We all agree that the BEST birthday of each year is when you celebrate someone else’s!!
Our grand babies and our littles enjoyed helping in the gift opening!
Eliza had asked me earlier in the week if she could make a card for her Daddy.
I said “Of course!”
Then she came back a bit later and asked where she should hide it!
I told her a drawer to put it in, but I never looked at it.
SHE IS JUST THE SWEETEST THING EVER!!
Our girl who LOVES words! And paper! And pencils and pens!
Aren’t these words just precious:
“Dear Dad I love you in all the ways. I love when you kiss me goodnight. I can’t believe you are 54. I love when you stay home on Saturdays and Sundays. You are the best Dad on the earth! Love Eliza!”
After gifts, and then dinner, we sang Happy Birthday to our leader with a few candles in brownies and ice cream with caramel and strawberry sauce!
I thought I would save the BEST photo for last.
Seven precious children…
One amazing son-in-law…
And four of the most darling and adorable grand babies ever…
Piled on and around a chair with the man I love.
I’m sure you can plainly see that Blake nor I ever feel like our birthdays need celebrated or gifts need given – because just look at the gifts we already have!
It was a JOY to celebrate my husband!!
We are SO glad that he was born!!!
We are so thankful for a husband, father, and GPa who lives the way he does!
For Jesus!
Thank you, sweetheart, for being who you are!
Bless you for ALL you do!
I am grateful the Lord burdens you to value marriage and family ABOVE all things!!
HAPPY, happy birthday!!
WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!
