Not long after I posted on my last post early last Monday morning, I woke the kiddos to get started on our day.
Eliza came upstairs and laid on the couch like she always does, but it did not take me long to realize she was burning hot with a fever.
Sweet baby girl!
So much for getting back to normal, huh?!
Eliza literally slept all day on Monday.
Thankfully she was back to 100 percent when she woke on Tuesday morning, Praise the Lord!
Then came Friday morning.
While I was getting ready for the day, I went out into the main room to write something on the grocery list without turning the big lights on.
Suddenly I realized someone was staring at me!
It was Tate, who was on the couch, and guess what?
Yes, burning hot with a fever.
He was down all day Friday and Saturday, but is all better now, Praise the Lord!!
I am SO, so thankful for Young Living products that help support us when we are well or when we are sick!
I believe the Lord blesses the way we eat, the essential oils we use, and the supplements we take.
I’m thankful!!
This week did have some normal in between all the fevers and all.
Like starting each day with time in God’s Word…
Time in school…
where we read a cute story for read aloud time instead of starting our new chapter book.
Time in piano lessons…
And time making good food!
At the beginning of the week Blake and I were carefully watching the weather and all of the children for any more illness.
We had planned to have an overnight get-away Wednesday and Thursday.
The big kiddos had given this to us as a Christmas gift!
Late Tuesday afternoon we decided to go ahead and go, at Addie’s encouragement as she was the one who was taking over here at home.
I’m SO glad we still were able to go!!
We drove away early Wednesday morning and were not five minutes away when I announced, “I’M HAVING THE BEST TIME!!!”
My hubby laughed and told me I had a serious case of cabin fever he was hoping to cure in the next 48 hours, ha, ha.
We headed to Rochester, Minnesota, and enjoyed lunch out and an afternoon of shopping.
I talked Blake’s ear off the whole way there and all through lunch!
I had warned him that he would have approximately 42 things I needed his opinion on and his decision about!
We had the BEST time!
We love to walk through Co-ops and Natural Grocery stores in different cities, crazy as that sounds!
We found several to check out and it was super fun.
Of course treats were in order.
We went to our hotel suite around dinner time.
Late in the evening we made a yummy meal – all the ingredients brought from home.
We also sat with my notebook open to make lists, plan school for this fall, draw plans for things we hope to do on the land this year, and write down our budget for this year.
A very fruitful time!
It was SO nice to just be the two of us, even as much as we love this loud and crazy life we have with our kiddos!!
As always it was nice to be back home – and just in time for Tate to not feel well.
Friday had us hanging out together, and I might have been dreaming about spring while planning our garden.
The weather this weekend was SO beautiful!!
Blue, sunny, and in the 30’s and 40’s which made it feel like a taste of spring!!
Besides working in the kitchen (see all that food above!), I did some spring cleaning and even had several windows open!
We had a special celebration this weekend as well.
It was 24 years ago today that we drove a few hours to the Chicago Int’l Airport and got to hold our oldest son, Grant Evan, for the very first time.
One of the best days of our lives!!
Today is Grant’s Day!!
We had a fun celebration last night with a meal that Grant chose – Chap Chae, Egg Rolls (store bought!), fruit salad, and chocolate waffles with homemade vanilla ice cream.
Before we started our celebration, we took a huge pan of Chap Chae over to Kay’s crew – illness with us and with them was keeping us apart.
Everyone enjoyed the meal very much!
Kayla messaged me and said “I haven’t eaten much yet, but this tastes SO good!!”
That made my heart very happy since I am the lady who likes to feed all the people!!
Grant was so kind to pose for his Mama for this photo!!
WE LOVE YOU G-man!!
SO THANKFUL WE ARE YOUR FOREVER!!!!
Do I dare say that we are getting back to normal today?
So far, it seems to be that it will be so!!
It was a good, full week, though, with SO many blessings!!
I hope you all had a great week too!!
And I hope you are getting glimpses of spring where you are!!
