Kayla had planned a Valentine Party for the kiddos for Valentine’s Day, but we were unable to have it when the stomach flu made it’s way through our home last week.
I would say this was the most anticipated Valentine’s Party I have ever been to – not because of all the fun things that were planned, but because we had not seen Kayla and the babies for TWO whole weeks.
Stinking stomach flu.
When Kayla opened the door to welcome us all in, Clyde burst into tears!
Not sure if it was the crowd that overwhelmed him, or if he was just so relieved to finally see us again!!
His NaiNai might have had a tear or two as well!
First things first – we made some puppy chow!
It was a party, after all!
The kiddos played!
And enjoyed one another!
Kayla and I made a quick lunch!
It was yummy!
Kayla had a craft planned.
Everyone enjoyed it – especially Lane and Eliza!
And Addie Mae!
Kayla pulled it up on Pinterest so we could see what it was supposed to look like!
No Valentine Party would be complete without decorating some sugar cookies.
These are our favorite spice cookies actually!
SO yummy!!
The babies really needed a nap!
They went down perfectly even with all of us there and being off schedule!
We thought about spending the night, the week, or the month (smile!)…..
but managed to tear ourselves away!!
Our family is CLOSE.
And we do not do so well when we are apart SO long.
But we just could not give Kayla, David, and those babies the nastiest stomach flu we have ever known.
Praise the Lord for smart phones, texting, and being able to share photos and videos!
One more photo before I go!
Of my two newest grand babies!
One is still growing in the womb, and one is still growing in her trust and love for her new forever family!
Both of them have a TIGHT hold of my heart strings!
I love them SO much!
I also love how purposeful our bigs are in pouring into the hearts and lives of the middles and littles!
Which was what this Valentine Party was ALL about.
Our Valentine Party was better late than never for sure!!
Happy Belated Valentine’s Day, everyone!
