My Kind Of Day!!!

Praise the Lord for this day!!! The sky is clear blue, it is a beautiful mid 70 something degrees, there is a breeze with the fragrance of freshly cut grass coming through our open windows, the littles are running in and out in their bare feet…..

Seriously. So. Good.

And to make it even better, this is our first day of canning this season!! LOVE, LOVE, loving it!!

The girls and I chopped two batches of salsa! It is processing now! We will have 20 quarts, and that is after everyone dipped their chip bowl into the pot for a taste! Last year our garden did so poorly that we were unable to can. Thankfully, the year before we were blessed to can 107 quarts of salsa! We have just a few left!

Time to go “side, side” and enjoy what is left of this beautiful day with my kiddos! I think someone is ready and waiting!! Hope you are praising the Lord for this day too!!

Can You Say Bedhead?

Whenever I open Eliza’s door to get her up in the morning, she loudly and cheerfully says, “HI, MAMA!” Usually I loudly and cheerfully respond, “HI, SWEET BABY!”

But this morning I said, “OH MY! Can you say bedhead?!?!” instead.

So Eliza responds, “BEDHEAD!”

Seems our little Chinese cherub understands her new language more than we realize!

All Is Well

Our quiet day yesterday was not interrupted after all, as Eliza’s doctor is just having us monitor things here at home. YEAH!!! We are so thankful!!! Thank you for praying with us! For now, Eliza’s first of seven appointments is September 16th.

To celebrate our good news, Lane and I made some grain-free chocolate muffins!

Lane celebrated our quiet day by staying in his pjs all day. Ahhhhh. It was a nice day.

Hope you all had a great day too!!

Last, But Definitely Not Least!

Poor Grant has had to wait the longest out of everyone here at home for Eliza to warm up to him. He has patiently and wisely pursued bonding with her, knowing that she would not be able to resist his dimples forever! She is finally as smitten with him now as he has always been with her.

And they make quite the pair.

This is our first quiet-no-place-to-be-no-one-coming-over-(that we know of!)-day we have had in a looonnngg time. And it is raining! Which puts all work outside on hold too! However, we have had a significant bladder change with Eliza, and are waiting on a call back from Pediatric Specialties….so this stay-at-home day may not last too long. I got myself ready, packed the diaper bag to the brim, and have Blake on stand-by in case we need to head to the hospital. Please pray with us for wisdom for all involved and that we would only put Eliza through what is absolutely necessary (if anything)!
