Quarantine life continues on.
Our Governor announced last week that he is extending the Shelter in Place Order until May 26th.
This is not the place for me to give my husband’s or my opinion on all that is going on in this world, but please know that we are feeling, thinking about, praying over, pondering, wondering, worrying, and ultimately trusting the Lord for what is happening right now.
It has never been more important to be in God’s Word daily and I am so thankful that the Lord burdened our family to make this a non-negotiable habit so many years ago.
I don’t think Ruby or Sadie are minding quarantine life!
They love their people.
Thankfully the weather is warming up this week.
Being quarantined in April when it still feels like winter is very hard!
We can’t wait to get outside more this week!
Notice the ice on the deck from two weeks ago, and look at all that snow we got on Easter Sunday last week!
Sigh.
We are grateful the Lord gives us glimpses of spring too!
We can open the windows a bit, let Ruby be on the deck at her heart’s desire, and go for long walks without freezing to death!
I am still cleaning things in the afternoons.
I’ve never been good at sitting still!
In all my random cleaning I realized this weekend I had not been doing my regular jobs and so I caught up on all of those too.
When we started cleaning things that clean for us I sent out a plea on Instagram to send help, ha, ha!
The dishwasher was GROSS though. EEEWWW.
Someone had to do some immediate cleaning when her blueberry smoothie went all over the cabinets and the ceiling!
It wasn’t me, just saying.
Poor girl!
Of course there are all the normal things to do that go along with having a big family!
Thankfully we are blessed with our four still being able to work.
Because of that, I continue to be the grocery shopper – going very early in the morning to one store and right back home again.
This pasta was on an end cap and caught my eye, so I thought we would give it a try!
Being in town is rather eerie.
But I was SO thankful to be out in that beautiful sunshine!
Speaking of our working ones – Grant and Chad are helping some guys who are building trucks for Blake for Mathy Construction – so they are kind of working for Mathy in a round about way!
Grant should be back to his regular job very soon – working on a paving crew with Mathy.
Chad has not been called back to his job yet (hence him filling his time for a few weeks helping his Dad out!), but hopes to be called back soon.
The boys come home covered in grease and dirt and starving!
I love this guy!
When I was in town one Friday I stopped to get two new games.
We were struggling!
And I thought two new games would make for a fun afternoon AND IT DID.
We played Just One (which is the name of the game!) for hours and laughed SO MUCH!
We have been sending snail mail to some people – letters and drawings and coloring pages that have been colored.
It has been fun!
We also have been receiving snail mail and LOVE it!
How encouraging a written word from a friend is!
Isn’t this one cute – I love this card and that tea was fantastic!
One morning our dog Sadie was downstairs just going crazy.
She was barking and growling and going crazy!
When we went down to see what was wrong, there was a pheasant standing on our patio right up against our sliding glass door!
WHAT?!
I got a photo of him as he headed back into the yard.
We still see him in our yard every day!
I cannot put into words how thankful I am when everyone arrives home on Friday night and I know the weekend is ahead of us!
MY PEOPLE.
This weekend we tackled some spring projects like touching up paint on all the walls, and putting the hens outside.
I think Blake ended up repainting that whole hallway and all the way down the stairs!
Our walls were dirty!
Addie Mae also worked on a new recipe for her food blog!
I don’t think I have ever told you about her food blog!
You all – please go check it out!
You can find it here.
Tate helped me in the kitchen on Saturday, as usual!
We made our first round of sun tea for the spring and summer!
Sunday we worshiped, our fifth week of doing church on line.
I cried the whole time we were singing.
I miss church SO MUCH.
Our Pastor’s sermon this week was meaty and so very good.
One blessing about church at home is the huge breakfast we have together before hand!
We do not normally have time for that!
We are thankful for so much right now!
But I am aching to see my Mom and brother – our trip was cancelled.
I am hurting for sweet friends who have weddings coming up.
I am hurting for ones who have lost their jobs and do not have an income.
I am sad for ones who do not have a house full of people to keep them busy, but are completely alone instead.
I am worried for ones we know that are due to have a baby.
There are SO many emotions everyday!
We are being so careful to keep our thoughts captive to the Lord we love….but the emotions are still there.
We are praying for everyone.
And we will continue!
May the Lord bless and keep you!
