We are continuing on with a bit of school most mornings, even though we are longing for summer and all that comes with it!
My trio (and I!) always do so much better with a little structure to our days, so starting each morning with chores, Bible time, and then some school is a great way to ensure a positive outcome to our day!
Our chores are sprinkled throughout the day – some right after breakfast, some right after lunch, and some during dinner prep time.
I am focused on training up this trio of mine and they thrive on helping here at Twin Oaks and owning their own responsibilities!
After morning chores and the children’s personal Bible time, we meet for worship, Bible memory, a devotional and prayer time.
It is our favorite time of the day!
We have been continuing on with Math and they are all doing great!
Tate and Eliza just started learning multiplying with carrying and I have to say I was surprised at how very quickly they caught on!
Teaching these kiddos is super FUN!
After Math and a bit of handwriting and language, we have been working through a curriculum called Bible Study for All Ages.
It has been really good and we are all learning so much!
We do illustrations and narrations (my favorite teaching tool!) after our story each day.
We also have been enjoying Adventures in Odyssey, a radio show.
We were given a four week free-trial because of the quarantine, but once it was up we paid the monthly subscription fee so we could keep listening!
There are coloring pages on the website that you can print off.
Coloring while listening was a hit on those cold weather days.
Our school mascots are furry and cute and always under our feet!
When Chad is home he works on his own school.
He is responsible for his own pace and for finishing his work!
He is very close to being done with his 10th grade year!
We always love having him here – especially when he practices his guitar.
Blake goes over the children’s school work with them about once a month.
They love to show their Daddy what they have been working on!
I am sure if and when the weather finally catches up with the date on the calendar we will not be able to stay inside for even a minute!
I still feel like I will sprinkle some math and reading throughout our summer days because too much is lost otherwise.
Blake and I are both so pleased that these kiddos LOVE to learn!
That is the GOAL!
Their enthusiasm makes learning together very fun!
I’ve been a “teacher” for twenty years now – crazy, isn’t it?!
I still enjoy it as much as I did on day one!
Praise the Lord that He fills me with His joy for this journey!!
I couldn’t imagine anything better!!
