Our area has been hit by some devastating rains the last few days.
On Monday night I heard we received 8 inches of rain in 90 minutes, and a total of 11 inches of rain before it was over.
Our girls were caught in that storm.
I had left church just about 15 minutes before them and was at home, but they sat for almost two hours, in separate places, unable to see to drive the 15 minutes home.
The damage in our area is heart breaking.
These photos are the town of Coon Valley, the valley right below Adoni Acres (our farm we move from last year), and about 10 minutes from Twin Oaks, where we are now.
Here, circled in red, is where Addie Mae works.
We are SO thankful to be safe and dry here at Twin Oaks.
Grant drove relief truck all night last night and is safe as well.
We are BEYOND anything we can imagine thankful that David and Kayla and the babies are safe as well, even though they do have some damage.
The dam right by their farm broke, and the farm right below them is in a very bad way.
Part of their damage is the end of their driveway washed away, taking with it their internet cable.
Here is a local news story that aired yesterday evening if you would like to see it – click here.
It rained quite a bit more yesterday afternoon.
THE SUN IS SHINING already this morning – thank you Jesus!!
Prayers for our area are coveted.
It is SUCH a blessing to see people COME TOGETHER as they go through this trial.
What a blessing to live in a community like the one we live in!
This is so heartbreaking, so many damaged properties. This will be a big trial for many people 🙁 I hope the community can pull through. Perhaps something positive will come from rebuilding of what couldn’t be saved.
I am glad you and your family are all safe.
Thank you, Lucie!!
